Offering a proper definition to the face and bringing our entire face makeup together, lip makeup plays a vital role. We all have different lips and thus, our lip makeup also varies. Whether you have fuller lips or thin lips, makeup has the power to bring the best out of it and make them more appealing. Here are some attractive makeup tips for different lip shapes:

1. Top Heavy lips

 The top-heavy lip is a characteristic of a majority of Indian women. Some effective makeup tips and tricks can make top-heavy lips appear even more beautiful. 

Makeup tips for top-heavy lips:

• Line your lips from the centre to the outside following the natural lip shape. 
• Apply a brighter lipstick on the bottom of your lips and create a slightly darker tone of the brighter lipstick on the top to create an illusion of smaller space. 
• You can also apply the same lip colour on both the lips and then a dab of white pencil or eyeshadow to the centre of the lower lip to achieve a balance. 
• To make fuller and heavy lips appear smaller, use a dark-toned lip colour as it will reduce the prominence of fuller lips. 

2. Bottom Heavy lips

Bottom-heavy lips are pretty and attractive. But some women tend to hide that. Here are certain tricks to make bottom heavy lips appear better. 

• Apply the same lip colour on the upper as well as lower lips, and then a dab of white pencil or creamy nide matte eyeshadow only to the centre of the upper lip to achieve balance, evenness and fuller look. 

3. Uneven lips

You know you have uneven lips if the shape of your upper and lower lips don’t match. 

Here are a few tips to manage uneven lips:

• If you have uneven lips, use a lip pencil to outline your upper lip, making both the lips match. 
• Smudge the lip liner with a very light hand to eliminate any rough and hard edges achieving a natural finish. 
• Carefully draw the lip liner and blend it well, otherwise, it might appear unflattering.

4. Flat lips

Unfortunately, flat lips have no dimension or depth and appear very flat without any prominent outline. However, flat lips are best for using light colours as dark colours will make them appear very flat. 

Flat lips can be given a good shape with this trick:

• Outline the natural lip line of your lips at first. 
• Choose shimmery and frosty lip colors as they would make your lips appear thinner and fuller adding a plumping effect. 
• You can also go for ombre lip colors. 
• Fill the outer corners of your lips with dark lip color and the center with soft or bright lip color to create a gorgeous lip effect.

5. Thin lips

Thin lips require more dimension and space

Here are the tricks to make thin lips appear more stunning. 

• Apply lip liner slightly beyond your natural lip line and then smudge it softly. 
• Apply a darker lip color to the lower lip and softer lip color to your upper lip and blend both of it.

6. Overlarge lips

Overlarge lips have the tendency to dominate the entire face. Always choose softer lip color with rich matte consistency to keep your lips appear soft and even. 

Here’s how you can shift attention from overlarge lips

• Try nude lip color
• It is best to do a heavy smokey eye or a highlighted cheek area for face makeup to shift attention from overlarge lip size.

7. Small lips

Small lips might look cute but does not make that lovely pout

• You can go for shimmery, frosty and glossy lipstick formulae which will add fullness to small lips. 
• Avoid very dark lip colors as it would make your lips appear smaller. 
• Accentuate your lips with brighter and softer lip colors.
